Distinguished Teachers in Greenwich

The Greenwich Board of Education recognized the six Distinguished Teachers for 2014 in a ceremony at its April 24 meeting at Riverside School.

The teachers were selected by the Distinguished Teachers Awards Committee that received numerous nominations from colleagues, parents, students, administrators and community members.     

• Mara Adelsberg, Greenwich High School, Guidance Counselor for the AVID Program, Grades 9-12, 
• Cheryl Iozzo, North Street School, Art Teacher, Grades K-5,
• Sheri McGowan, Riverside School, First-Grade Teacher, 
• James M. Micik, Eastern Middle School, Sixth-Grade Science Teacher,
• Robert Walsh, Eastern Middle School, Eighth-Grade English Teacher.
• Lin Young, Greenwich High School, Mandarin Chinese Teacher, Grades 9-12.

The Distinguished Teachers Awards Ceremony will take place at Central Middle School at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 6.
