The Day After — Back Normal for Greenwich Schools

Greenwich schools are operating on regular schedules Wednesday.

Greenwich schools are open and operating on a regular schedule — a day after a snowstorm left about four inches of snow in town.

The continuing snow on Tuesday afternoon prompted cancellation of all after-school activities including athletics in all public and private schools in town because of road conditions. First Selectman Peter Tesei said of the apparent lack of plowing along Route 1 by the state Department of Transportation, "the State DOT just needs a reminder to continue past Stamford and through to the New York line - it happens every so often we get short shrift."

It appears there's a pretty good chance most of the snow will melt as temperatures are expected to reach into the 50s, and possibly 60 over the weekend.
