Greenwich Girls Hockey To Host Darien

The girls hockey team is back in action on Monday when the Cardinals host Darien at the Dorothy Hamill Rink at 5:15 p.m.

Greenwich has been off since last Monday when they defeated Fairfield to improve to 5-2.

Darien enters the contest with a 5-0 record after blanking Wilton 3-0 on Thursday.

James Hopper, a sixth-grader at Eastern Middle School, recently was one of only 55 divers named to the USA Diving's Junior Elite Performance Squad.

The selections for the team was based on performances at last year's USA Diving Junior Nationals in Knoxville, TN.

The 11-year-old Hopper was was a silver medalist in all three events in which he competed: the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform.

Locally, he swims for the Whirlwind Diving Club, which is based in New Canaan.
