The FCIAC cross country championships, scheduled for Thursday, have been postponed until Monday at New Canaan's Waveny Park due to Wednesday's heavy rains.
The meet will begin at 2:15 p.m. and will include six races: freshman boys and girls, junior varsity boys and girls and varsity boys and girls.
Here is Monday's schedule:
2:15 p.m. - Boys Freshman (2.5km)
2:30 p.m. - Girls Freshman (2.5km)
2:50 p.m. - Boys Varsity Race (5km)
3:20 p.m. - Girls Varsity Race (4km)
3:50 p.m. - Boys Junior Varsity Race (5km)
4:20 p.m. - Girls Junior Varsity Race (4km)
Following the completion of races, an awards ceremony will take place
WEDNESDAY'S RESULTS
Boys soccer
Greenwich 2, Danbury 1 -- Peter Zenna and Will Gittings had goals for the Cardinals (7-4-1), who are tied with Danbury and Westhill in the battle for the FCIAC's final two playoff berths.
Girls volleyball
Greenwich 3, Norwalk 0 (25-8, 25-2, 25-14) -- Xanthi Katsigiannis had 23 assists and three digs for the Cardinals, who improved to 12-3. Ebba Mark added nine kills and 12 service points and Milena Skwarek contributed seven kills and 13 service points for Greenwich.
Girls swimming
Greenwich 104, Staples 74 -- Diver Emily Stotesbery broke a 25-year-old school record with a score of 262.45 for the Cardinals
