"Neighbors"—Connecting The World With Chess

Corporate Apple mailed and helped me download the iDVD program on to NEIGHBORS Macbook.

Corporate Apple mailed and helped me download the iDVD program on to NEIGHBORS Macbook. I was able to burn a DVD of our third episode with Pastor Perling for our Danbury Community Access Channel (Thank God). All’s I can say about this whole experience with the corporation is that thank goodness the late Steve Jobs didn’t put out a call to “drink the Kool-Aid” or we would have had mass funerals in this country and probably around the world.

On Friday, February 1, 2013 at 7 pm we’ll be filming the Friday Night Chess Club at the Greenwich Library. This is a great honor for us because our first season was filmed there, http://neighborstv.info/player.asp?episode=1 and at that time, let’s just say we weren’t embraced by the facility. To my knowledge there wasn’t a Chess program in place, but that’s all changed now and the monthly, first Friday Night Chess Club program is the hottest affair in town. Then on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 1 pm we’ll be at the cultural ground breaking Byram Shubert Library filming Fun With Chess. Both Chess program are facilitated by Master Rich.

Then on Saturday, February 23, 2013 we’re at the Allegra Dance Studio to film the movement part of NEIGHBORS which is the troop from the dance studio doing an interpretive dance routine to the Chess Song! I’m so excited I’m besides myself. I remember back in 2010 when they first danced on the show, water was leaking from my eyes I was so happy and proud http://neighborstv.info/player.asp?episode=5. This time I’ll have a box of tissues cause I know they are gonna blow me away.

Even though I was told by the Board of Education’s (BOE) public relations representative that Mr. Spector, without ever speaking with me, had denied my request causing me to go to the BOE meeting to  appeal his decision. I’m sad to say that so far we’ve yet to hear from any BOE member about the Chess Song being included a Greenwich Middle School Choir’s Spring Concert. After speaking at the meeting I was told by the Deputy Superintendent that they’d contact me, but no one has. I’ll remember this slight breach when I’m blackening my oval. But to be fair, I’m thinking it’s because “On Friday, Jan. 4, Jeffrey Spector, the district's coordinator for music, art and theater arts was told by McKersie that his job was being eliminated.” http://greenwich.patch.com/articles/music-phys-ed-coordinators-eliminate....
