Youth at Art — The Annual Teen iCreate Art Show To Open at The Bruce

iCreate will feature the works of high school students in an exhibit that will open June 7 at The Bruce Museum.

The annual exhibition iCreate that features the work of area high school students, opens this weekend at The Bruce Museum.

The show is organized by the Bruce Museum's Youth Committee, Youth@Bruce and this year has selected 47 artworks from an open call to regional high schools and one school from Tianjin, China.  These jury-selected finalists will be displayed in the Lecture Gallery along with a digital presentation of all entries, beginning this Saturday, June 7 through July 6.

In the spirit of the cross-cultural exchange of art displayed in our current exhibition Tales of Two Cities: New York & Beijing, this year's iCreate exhibition will feature not only the selected works of regional high school students, but also the works of students from Tianjin No. 2 High School, a Chinese high school that is paired with Greenwich High School through the "Confucius Classroom" program.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners, and this year we have added the People's Choice Award. The People's Choice Award will be decided by the public vote online and in person, as viewers vote for their favorite art submission.  Each art entry has a number on their art label and video label.

The submission video and voting link will be posted on our website June 7. The People's Choice Award will be announced at our June 15, Chinese Family Day at 2 p.m.
